Her eyes are large green gems, while her curly hair just barely covers them. Although small in size, Maria possesses a strange ability to carry up to twice her size.

Personal History:
Maria Bellford Cross was born in Funchal, Portugal and was taken care of in her earlier years in life by her Grandmother.
As her father, a soldier in the Portuguese army, went off to help fight in Angola, she attended school every day that she could. Being one of the Average students of the classroom, Maria openly admitted that school was always uninteresting. With her father being the soldier he was, he kept many of his weapons at home because he wasn't able to take them to war with him. He tried at his best to hide them from her, but they were easily discovered in the basement of his house. After years of figuring out how the guns functioned, the different types of them, and the different bullets of each gun, she had finally took a shot out of target practice. Her father had returned home, due to a leg injury in battle. Being only ten years of age, she'd never seen anyone fire a gun before. But she pulled the lock off of the gun, hearing a firm 'click' sound, before pulling firmly on the trigger. The barrel was pointed into the direction of the window. The glass shattered in the basement, startling her, and as every kid did after doing something wrong, she ran. Tossing the weapon carelessly across the room, she ran upstairs only to be confronted by her father who'd thought someone broke into the house.
Years later, he'd taken her hunting in the Funchal mountains after showing her how to shoot a bow and arrow. She had dropped out of school now, and was home schooled on repairing weapons and creating gunpowder. In the mountains, they hunted lynx and many wild pigs. Although slow with her weapon, Maria had almost never missed her targets.
Upon returning home, Helder announced that they would be moving to the northern parts of Europe for her own safety due to the uprising of unknown activity happening in southern Portugal. With Portugal being a neutral country in the Great War, it was unknown to them that the United Kingdom had been brutally damaged during it. They were also unaware of the fact that the same activity happening in Portugal was happening everywhere in the world. When turning eighteen, she parted ways with her father with the idea that he had raised her long enough for her to take care of herself.

How did one manage to get in? The thought raced through the mind of a weaponry worker as she hid behind the counter of the store. Afraid to move an inch due to having no type of weapon on her, she watched with wide eyes as the tall figure slid it's way through the store, moans of pain eroding from his collection of falling drool. Her eyes scanned the store, to see where exactly this thing entered in from and where the closest weapon was located. About two yards away from her was a baseball bat located near the opened back door leading to the outside streets of London. It moaned again, and she cringed while trying her best to move into the direction of the door. Inner prayers went through her mind, hoping that another wouldn't pop into the door frame, ready to attack.
Forward rolling towards the door, she grabbed the bat and closed the door. The decaying human was now facing into her direction, and slowly making it's way to her. "Ready or not, here I come..." Swinging the bat in hand three times and hitting the zombie, she grabbed one of the guns hanging on the shelf before bolting to the door. Slowly looking back at the human on the floor, she noticed it still crawling using it's hands towards her. Aiming the Nagant to it's head, she pulled back the trigger to silence the moans coming from him.
