Connie hesitated a moment, thinking that she could hear voices, but they stopped soon after. Putting it down to a jumpy imagination from the moment before, Connie moved forwards again. Unfortunately, she was moving over a patch of rubble, so her attention was taken up trying not to fall over that she missed the sounds of more movements behind her. Suddenly, the air was ripped with the sounds of gun shots and she whirled about, in time to see two zombies - one sent flying backwards by a shot threw the shoulder and the other still advancing forwards.
Unlucky for Connie, but her spinning about caused her to step on a patch of loose rubble and she fell to the floor in a heap, loosing the grip on her gun for a moment. Throwing all caution to the winds, Connie cried out. "HELP!" There had to be someone nearby. Shots didn't just magically fall from nowhere. The creature that was still on it's feet was still advancing towards her, and scrambling backwards, Connie got her gun out and fired three shots at it. The first hit the things chest, the second missed, but the third one went into the things skull and it fell to the ground.
Looking about, she saw several more of the things coming her way so, deciding not to bother with the other one that had been shot on the shoulder, Connie jumped to her feet and started scrambling over things in the direction she thought the shots had come from, cursing under her breath all the while.
[down 4 shots in clip]

Date (January 15, 1924) 1812 hours London, James Rivier District 12 Degrees C, Cloudy, heavy rain"I will cover you both. Go!" Anton yelled and ran towards the general side of where he saw Bowden take his shots, calculating in his mind where the girl would be approximately. He reached the broken windows with their jagged edges and used his rifle butt to clear the remaining glass. Peeking outside he saw a female figure dressed in a gray coat running towards the building followed by a small group of living dead. He counted seven of them and quickly raised his rifle. He calmed his breathing and took careful aim in the first one. His shot hit the creature in the head and its head exploded in a burst of fine red paste. The second shot missed the other zombie, the third hit its leg nearly taking it off. The third target kept running with insane speed, its roars echoing across the street. He missed again because of the insane half-crawling, half-running of the blasted creature. His next shot hit it straight in the heart, assuming it had one. It lurched and kept running. He shot again this time being mad at himself, taking fast shots at the thing. He missed again. Firing three quick shots one after another he managed to hit the lead corpse in the head, making it drop dead in its tracks rolling on the ground. His vision had turned into a tunnel-like view only seeing his targets and the crack of his rifle. His next shot hit the third zombie in the kneecap blasting it into pieces. Counting his shots in his mind he fired the last bullet into the fourth target and missed. While quickly reloading his rifle, his hands pulling out the next clip he noticed the girl was no longer in sight. Two of the runners were crawling ahead in an unnatural movement while the other three were running forward with insane roars and shrill screams. In a second they were gone, out of sight from his vantage point. He started running back to the stairs keeping his rifle ready. [INV: -10 .303 British rounds]

Draco nodded "Thank you" and quickly ran down the stairs, his rifle in hand aware he had 8 shots left in the clip, doing everything he could to make sure he wouldn't fall over as he half jumped half ran down the stair case.
After what felt like an eternity he reached the bottem, quickly swerving to the door he'd seen when he first came in wrenching it open to see the girl across the street running from the undead "QUICKLY! RUN! DON'T LOOK BACK!" he shouted to her, taking aim and firing a shot at one of the runners, destroying its knee cap and causing it to topple onto the street, 7 rounds he thought taking aim and firing another at the third running, hitting this one in the shoulder 6... he took another shot at it, this time hitting it in the head causing it to snap backwards as putrid gore flowed from the new hole in its head as it collapsed to the floor. 5... she was now to close to shoot without risk of hitting her, it was all down to the woman now...

Shots rained down behind her as Connie made her dash across the streets. She could hear the bullets hitting them, but just kept on going and hoped that whoever the hell was shooting would be able to tell she was not one of those things.
Getting to a bombed out building, Connie jumped over a couple of wooden support beams that had fallen, hopng it hat it would at least buy them a little time if they chose to follow her. It was as she reached the other side of that building, that she saw a door being flung open across the street. She was about to raise her gun and fire when she realised the man was shouting at her and firing at the things behind. It took a moment to register what was being said. When it did, she took the guys advice and continued to sprint off towards him, trying to keep out his line of fire. The adrenaline mixed with fear and exertion caused her breathing to come in short gasps and her bag was banging into her side painfully but she couldn't drop it. It contained pretty much everything she owned.
Finally she managed to reach the other man and paused, trying to get her breath back slightly. "Where the... hell do we... go now?" she panted at him.

[[OOC: ok, caught up.]]
GM
Now that they had gotten Ms. Green to safety, it was time to make a move. Spotting a desk propped up against the devastated wall, Bowden shoved it over, crossing the doorway. Now having temporarily blocked off their pursuers, they needed to make a choice fast. They could either attempt to find safe, which undoubtedly had some cash in it, or they could make an immediate break out the back, via a second story window. The green zone was only 3 blocks away, and it would take a few minutes before the undead realized they no longer had their prey cornered.
[[OOC: I'll let you decide where the safe is, but you do have the key, and inside it will be $78 and 19 .45 ACP rounds. The downstairs back door is barricaded by rubble, so you'll have to escape via a window. Night is only a couple hours away, you'll need to move fast to get to the green zone in time.]]

Draco shoved the desk in the way of the door and grabbed Connie's hand shaking it "Draco, Draco Bowden nice to meet you, now if you'd follow me upstais" he gave her a grin as the sound of a zombie smashing into the door cracked through the air and he sprinted up the staircase "Anton!" he shouted "That door ain't gonna hold for long, I think we need to get outa here!" as he reached the top he looked out of the window, it seemed a small horde was gathering all around that one door, no climbers had appeared yet thank god "hmm... seems there all ground based for the moment, I suggest we make hasty retreat while we can? we can always get the safe later..." Draco didn't put much stock on cash for the moment

Connie looked at the man - Draco - in amazement, loosely shaking his hand back, still trying to get her breath back. "Yeah... eh... Connie Green." She ran after him up the stairwell, jumping slightly as he yelled at someone. Evidently he had not been alone. "No shit, Sherlock" she mumbled as he declared they needed to get out of that place fast. At least he was a better fighter.
Spotting the other man, Connie nodded to him. "Anton, I take it? I'm Connie. You here on holiday as well?" She grinned, trying to lighten the situation before looking about the room some more, trying to see where they could possibly escape from. This was gonna be a close one. She had no idea what they were on about with a safe, but those details could be worked out later.

Anton smiled and added panting while following Bowden's yell:
"Quite a long vacation Miss Green. Draco if we go outside now and make a run for it they will catch up. We need to use whatever we can to barricade ourselves here. It is almost night. I'd hate to be caught in the open with no visibility. Remember - the electricity is down!"
He yelled and when they finally reached the only entrance to the second floor and started hauling whatever furniture he could find after shutting the door and barring it with a chair. That would at least slow the undead until he could find things heavy enough to block their way. He was not going to die like a coward running on the street, like so many of the people he had seen torn apart by the corpses. With great hope he saw a big, metallic filing cabinet that looked heavy enough to block the door and started moving it from its spot... he yelled to Bowden to help him block the door.
"Miss Green if you have a rope o anything like that now is the moment to use it. I was able to get away with a rope last time!"

Draco stopped and looked at Anton "If my time in the trenches taught me anything, sometimes the best tactic is to hide and flee." he winced as he heard the door downstairs beginning to smash under the bombardment "I think this might be one of those times, there's a horde out there.. I don't know how long we can hold" he checked the breach of his gun pointing it towards the door that was now barricaded "They'll think were still in here, if we blockade these doors enough we can make a run to another building, hole up somewhere quieter, it won't be long till climbers come, get through the windows.."

Connie watched as Anton began piling things over the door, the bangs of the creatures as they tried to get through filling the room. She shook her head. "Rope? Nope, don't have any of the stuff. Probably should get some sometime..."
"Besides," she continued. "I'm with this guy. If we can get out of here, we might be able to get away and get to some where safe. If not, well I'm sure we can take a few more of them down before the end. No point in dying for no reason, is there?" She raised an eyebrow. Connie did feel bad about the fact she had probably led all the things to these two, but apologies could be made later. Right now, getting out mattered more.

Date (January 15, 1924) 1821 hours London, James Rivier District 7 Degrees C, Cloudy, heavy rainAnton sighed while pushing the third filing cabinet against the other two thus effectively blocking the door from entry and turned towards the two. "I agree about the trench warfare, friend. There is much more at stake here than what officers told us back in those days. Yes I have seen war, and lots of it. But if we go outside now this means we have to stumble in the falling darkness. Does any of you have a light of any sort? I sure as hell don't. So if you really think going outside on the unlit streets with low visibility in this gloomy, rainy weather considering soon the night will fall and They will come out then go ahead. I intend to follow you if you absolutely must do this, just because you are the first living human beings I have seen in the four days. It's up to you. I believe we can hold them off since we blocked the only exit and we can shoot and chop at anything that tries to come through that door, at least for the night. It's up to you friends." While saying that he hauled one of the desks and put in on top of the filing cabinets with Draco's help thus blocking the door even more. All three of them stopped for a moment and Anton looked at them. "I checked the windows and made a rough sketch of the floor, here look at this." "You see the barred entryway? That's us. The only other ways into the floor are the windows but I don't believe they are agile enough to climb to the top. Not on a straight wall they won't. Even if they do make it inside which I doubt there is a way to escape. As you maybe noticed the floor has a parapet which you can use to walk on, I don't know what is on the right side of the windows though, I have not gone outside." After saying that he sneezed and looked around expectantly.

Draco listened to what he said to say and sighed nodding slightly "Alright... but I still think we need to set up a warning system on the windows... gods knows what these buggers are actually capable of" he eyed the door as the barrage continued "Although, since were staying in here, we should probably try find that safe... and we should avoid leaving anyone alone if we can... which means we'll have to try stay within sight of each other " he pointed at the managers room on the map "That'd be the logical place for a safe right?"

Connie sighed. This was most likely going to be a very long night in the building with those things trying to get in. But when Anton had put it like that... there seemed little other option.
"Alarm system for the windows... what if we put a single board or something over the front of each of the windows. That way, if something tries to get in, it'll need to move the thing blocking the way first, causing a noise to let us know what's going on and roughly where it is. A couple of those old desks propped on their sides would work? That, and if we stick to one area we can use some of this rubble and junk to create temporary walls to stay behind."
"We could even hunt about and set up some tin cans on string, if it makes you feel better?" she smiled sweetly at Draco. Then, looking at Anton she asked. "You're sure we will be able to hold this place out?"

Anton sighed and looked at the two:
"We only need to hold out for a night. Staying in one place for too long is dangerous as it is. I suggest we use the remaining furniture to block most of the windows and leave only the most convenient one to keep watch on. That way we will have less entry points to worry about. I will take the first watch and keep an eye on things."
He stopped for a second and turned to Bowden.
"Draco do you have any idea if any of those vehicles had a towing rope on them? We sure could use it to give us a tactical advantage if need be. I can go look for one but I may need a diversion. Also any extra supplies that survived the onslaught might be useful."
He took a look outside using his scope and the undead seemed to be away from the convoy remains, bloody trails leaving to the north. He of course knew that they probably heard the shots. He wondered if it was wise to go outside? But they sure did need the rope to make a quick getaway in case they succeeded in breaking in.
"Well its up to you friends. I can go look for a rope and extra supplies now while there is still light or we can barricade and hope for the best. I wish we had tools to barricade better."
Connie and Draco looked at him and suddenly a change of mind flashed on the young man's face.
"We will try our luck outside. Come on Connie."
She looked at him in amazement but followed him out the door anyway. Draco turned to Anton and added:
"We'll be back don't worry!"

GM
As Draco and Connie left Anton alone in the room, Draco thought about their chances. it wasn't very likely that they would survive the night, even with three guns and two trained people behind them. Whole squads had been devastated by these things, but they could sure as hell try against all odds to survive. Even if it meant ditching Anton to die in the building alone. Little did Draco know, Connie was thinking the same thing. She wanted to survive at all costs and giving one life to save hers and Draco's was a good enough price. As soon as they crept out the door, Connie whispered in Draco's ear. "Let's just leave him, find a way out. I can drive one of the vehicles."
Draco nodded and looked forward grinning slightly since someone else agreed with him. The two moved silently and found a good enough vehicle to take. Connie hopped into the driver's seat and Draco followed suite and hooped into the passenger's. The keys were still thankfully in the ignition and Connie turned them. The sound of the vehicle's engine trying to turn over attracted the attention of several of runners and jumper from the front of the building and with a screech, they rushed around and toward the vehicle. Draco saw them coming and started to unload at the undead, dropping or disabling most of them. The sound of gunshots had attracted the attention of the rest of the horde at the front. As they slowly rounded the corner, a runner had reached the passenger side and grabbed Draco, who stabbed the infected female in the head. Continuing his hail of hot lead on the oncoming horde, Connie had successfully managed to start the vehicle and sped away. Draco sat back in the seat and sighed.
Seeing what had happened in the city sent him into a flashback as something hit the roof. Connie looked up and moved her hand over and started to shake Draco. Draco was brought out of his flashback as a jumper popped it's head down to look in the cab and grabbed Draco. Being shocked at what was happening, Draco didn't put up a fight as the creature pulled him out the window and ripped out his throat. Connie hit the brakes, sending the creature and Draco's lifeless form to the street in front of her. Slamming her foot on the accelerator, she hit the jumper and Draco's corpse. Something stirred in the back of the vehicle and grabbed for Connie. Screaming at what was happening, she didn't pay attention and hit the corner of a building, sending her through the windshield and into the wall. The last thing she saw was a crawler's face coming in to take her life.
((OOC: Sorry for leaving you alone Anton. But you should be able to survive now that the horde thinks they got the the last of the food.))
