[[OOC: honestly I was hoping Erik would post first and we wouldn't have needed you...]]
24 January 1924 17:00 hours (5:00pm) Overcast, 0 deg C (32 deg F)
Tina leads the way quickly back to the new base. They stop at the far corner to observe the area. There were no zombies in the area that could be seen. Tina leads the group to the window of the secured room and looks in.... It seemed unchanged. She crawled in the window and moved to the closest door to allow the rest of the group to enter.
As Erik and Seraph reach the center of the room, Tina approaches them. "We need to secure the rest of the house. I did not hear anything above when I was here earlier, but that doesn't mean there still aren't any infected residents or staff here. I figure we can split the group, half clear the first floor, the other half clear the next level. I volunteer for the first floor."

Looking around as the last of the men filed in through the window he said, "Very well, John T, Smith, JC, and Vesper, your with Tika. Jeff, Vlad, Borris, your with me and Seraph. Rest of you set up here and be ready should any injuries happen. Medics, have your supplies ready and other be prepared to replace."
Motioning for them to quietly remove the barricades, he said, "Move."

Seraph set his pack down and reloaded his right pistol, a mistake that he rarely ever made anymore. "I'm locked, loaded, and willing to rekill." He smiled a bit, reholstering his pistol. He pulled out his machette, knowing that a quieter method of his business would keep zombie exposure to a minimum.

24 January 1924 17:30 hours (5:30pm) Overcast, 0 deg C (32 deg F) Having reloaded her rifle mag and checked the doors for sounds on the other side, Tina took the four men, John T, Smith, JC, and Vesper, with her. Quietly she motioned JC and Vesper to the first room, while she, John T, and Smith took the next one. Smith quietly opened the door and peeked inside. The room was empty. They let JC and Vesper leap frog them to the next room, which was the kitchen, while Tina and her group headed to the foyer. From what JC could tell, the larder was fully stocked with canned foods. He would report this to Erik later. Tina and her crew headed to the foyer. They needed to clear this area so that Erik and his crew could clear the upstairs. John T took lead, opening the door slowly. With no zombies in view, he slid into the room, making no sound. Next was Smith, then Tina. Tina slid around to the right of the doors, taking the long view of the room while the guys trailed around the base of the staircase. All seemed clear. Suddenly, the far doors opened with a lurch as lone zombie shuffled through. Tina took no time to think. She brought her rifle into position and fired off 1 shot right between its eyes. The sound of the shot echoed in the large foyer. Worried that more zombies would poor through the far door at any minute, Tina and Smith rushed to the doors, while John T kept his eye on the stairs. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, JC and Vesper heard the shot, but were occupied with a zombie each, dispatching them with their knives, as they surprised them near the door to the dining room. They moved into the dining room, Tina spotting them. Tina sent Smith back to John T to watch the stairs until Erik's team got there. Seeing two sets of doors not yet checked in the dining room, Tina had the two men check the door closest to them while she took the other door. The room she entered was partially divided and looked like a den or parlor with three windows on her right. A window here was broken and some of the furniture was turned over, but there was no sign of zombies. She checked the windows, but the yard was still clear. She moved quickly to the opposit wall and to the connecting door. Pushing it open, she looked to her right to see more windows half broken. With one more door to check, Tina moved quickly towards it, but as she started to come around the picture wall in the center of the room, she was surprised by a zombie. She was too close for a rifle shot, so she took her knife and sliced at it, wounding it enough that she could get in close enough to cut its throat in a quick motion right to left. This was nearly no different to her than cutting a cow's neck when it was time to butcher it back on her father's dairy farm. Seeing no other zombies in the room she headed to the doors. She opened the doors to find Vesper and JC, knives out, already in the room with three zombies. It was too close for Tina to use her rifle, plus she might hit one of the guys. With her knife still in her hand from her last encounter, she entered the fight on Vesper's right, to take out the zombie that was closing in on his flank, leaving him open to take on the zombie in front of him. Once those three zombies were taken care of, the trio returned to the foyer and back to the first hallway to meet the upstairs group. {-1 bullet}

Seraph slipped through the door after Tinas group, making sure not to undo what Tina had done so masterfully. As she moved through the far door, Seraph peeled right up the steps, keeping his steps light and his mind ready. As he came to the split, he turned right, and seeing everything was clear, proceeded. He planted his back against the wall and peered out, seeing two zombies stumbling towards the foyer. His machette ready, he waited until the first was at a reasonable distance, and rolled out from behind his corner, unholstering his right pistol and taking out the first. Before the second had time to react, he quickly dove at it, taking its head with him. He looked back and smiled at his handiwork. This was what he lived for, rekilling things.

Erik brought out his colt revolver, his rifle sitting on his lower back, tied by a leather harness that would allow him to quickly detach or bring it around if he needed it. He followed Seraph up the stairs, motioning the other four to follow quietly. He prayed silently that Seraph didn't get to cocky as they topped the stairs. He sighed when he saw two zombies dead on the floor and Seraph unharmed, wondering why he saw the need to hog all the kills.
He looked around the upper floor of the mansion, motioning Vlad and Borris to wander down the other end and begin clearing it of zombies. He then motions for Seraph to take point as he and Jeff followed behind with guns drawn.
He reached and rubbed his back as they moved out, feeling a slight pain in his lower spine but quickly moving up, taking the second door down the hall and sliding it open, flinching as a loud creak sounded when it slid open, dodging back as a zombie lurched from it's spot behind the door, bashing it in the face with his pistol hilt before grabbing the knife out of it's holster and quickly finishing it off.

Seraph climbed over the corpse and entered the hallway with his machete at the ready. The hallway had five doors, two on each side and one at the far end. Seraph took the nearest door, and motioned for Erik to spread out over the three other doors. Seraph counted to three, then flung open his door. He felt some resistance as his door opened, but the just used his strength to slam it into the wall with a large crunch. He then checked what it was, smashing the head of the zombie behind the door. "Hmm, guess I should've knocked." Seraph immediatly started searching the room for supplies. There was a night table by the queen size bed, an armoir, and a chest of drawers.

Erik looked around the room, his eyes peering into the room with his adjusting eyes, carefully moving in as his ears strained for the slightest sound announcing he wasn't alone. He noticed that it was a rather large room, seemed to be a simple servants quarters. There were beds scattered around the edges, small singles with night stands beside them. A few lamps were scattered around, and he smelled oil spilled on the floor. That would need cleaned soon, otherwise it could be a hazard.
He held his knife and colt at the ready, wandering through and looking around. He opened a few drawers and found misc items in them; a comb here, a picture there, a locket in one place; personal affects that were mostly gone, likely taken when the residents tried to flee.
He began wandering back out, and noticed that Jeff had came out too, making an all clear motion as he silently closed his door. He wondered how the other team was doing as he motioned for Jeff to move up, and the opened the last two rooms.
The rooms were clear, Jeff having to kick open his door and finding a small library. Erik found what appeared to be a misc storage closet, with various cleaning items, simple furniture, a few bottles of cheap alcohol, and other stuff inside. He motioned for seraph to do a once over for anything they missed as Jeff and him moved back towards the staircase.

Seraph grinned at the bottle of scotch. "This will definately come in handy later..." He closed the supplies back into the armoir. They weren't going anywhere, and he could come get them later. He did a quick scan through the other rooms before following Erik. "This is going too smoothly..." Seraph mumbled to Erik. "I don't like it."
